Which laptop should I buy for college?

As the end of the year approaches, I have begun to think about what I will need for college. One necessity is, of course, a good quality laptop. While I have used dell all of my life, I feel that now is a good time to explore other options.

Some people swear by macs, others love hp or toshiba. And then of course there is another angle to consider: laptop or tablet. I have never had a tablet, nor have I known anyone who did. That being said, the general word on the street is that they are pretty cool. I have heard that on some tablets you can write directly onto the screen with a stylus, and then click a button and have the handwritten words change to typed font. That seems like an awesome way to save time.

So I find myself facing a dilemma: Stay with what I know, or try something new that might be better. What is your opinion? Should I stay with dell, or try mac, hp, toshiba, or some other brand? Should I get a regular laptop or a tablet?

Any insight you could provide would be great, and links to more information are always welcome too. Thanks in advance,

~Clarkie

P.S. If someone actually has a tablet, can you tell me how you like it?|||i have an hp laptop and love it!!! but i am too going away to school next year and i am looking at macs. i love how they have everything that my windows computer can do and all the fun mac stuff too. i know it costs about $200 to buy the disk that allows word documents to be saved on a mac and all that. i have an iphone and ever since i have gotten it i love mac. they are so helpful too. it%26#039;s a great buy and i only hope i can afford to buy one before i leave for school!|||think about this, the tablet may seem cool dude, far out and funky thing to have, well maybe so, the type you use a pen to write with means the screen can easy get cuts, bubbles on it from possible pushing down on, damage easy. mac are great computers, i like them but cost more than any other notebooks. dell and hp are the most popular ones to use among students and business ppl. its your choise. if you can spend the money, than macs are the one.|||i would most DEFF. say a mac. DEFINITELY. they have everything and they dont get viruses so you dont have to worry about your laptop crashing from one. the high school i go to gives every student the newest macbook from grade 5-12. the work AMAZINGLY. and they have everything you need. like you said some people swear by macs.... everyone in my school swears by them. simply AMAZING.|||http://www.tabletpcreview.com/reviews/

Starting on July 1, 2009 any new systems purchased will be eligible for the no-charge update. In addition to purchasing the PC after that date, there are three more rules:

A great little notebook with wonderful reviews.

-paul|||wait till windows 7 comes out and get a tablet. all the cool new touch features combined with a tablet would be cool as.|||A mac book. The best.|||dear Clarkie,

As you have said that you have used Dell for certain years, which is of course a very good brand,i would consider you to buy another brand which is even more better.I bet there are even better computer brands out there in the market.I could tell you a good brand-Sony,VAIO.its exceptionally good with really good features, you could check it out in the internet.or you could use any of the Apple brands also which are the Best.

As you asked that whether you would want a tablet or a laptop,I have considered you to use a laptop.though the laptop is comparitively bigger in size, it also has much space to store .using a tablet may effect your eyes and maybe there wont be enough space also to store.

i hope my %26quot;essay%26quot; has helped you.

p.s.-im sry i couldnt give you any links or info cuz its your choice to surf on the net and find the features of the device which you will be using in future.good luck! :)

p.p.s-and also your welcome!!!

For memory try going for 2gb or 6gb ( Gigga Bytes),usb ports

8 or more if possible, Flash Drive i would recommend getting an attachi

2GB flash drive! w/ storage capacity of: 300%. sound, i most definite recommend that you get Sound blaster live!.. that latest version on the market to date!

and if you need hard drive cleaning software let me know %26amp; and will

hook you up for $20.00! if that%26#039;s alright with you =).
