I heard this on a 60-second radio spot called %26quot;Perceptions%26quot;:
%26quot;Mike has had to apply for many jobs in his lifetime. Those who are currently interviewing for a position might want to take note of his perspective. After sending in a resume and having finished a face-to-face conversation with a potential employer, he has two-step follow-up plan: First, he sends the interviewer a handwritten thank-you note. Second, he finds some reason to call them back. He does because he finds it proves advantageous to keep his name in front of them. When a position finally opens up, he wants his prospective boss to remember him. He keeps the doors open by taking initiative and staying the loop. Mike was asked if his strategy has been helpful. He said, “It’s how I got the job I’ve got now.” There is a time for everything, including waiting, but there is also a time to act. When we have problems, we must keep peddling.
What is your take on the last two sentences? Is it another way of saying, %26quot;Take initiative to change / move on if you aWhat do you think this is saying?I think Mike's got the right attitudeWhat do you think this is saying?I'd never employ %26quot;Mike%26quot; ..... if he is that in my face before he works for me, imagine what it would be like once I employ him !
